St. George's Society's Award of Merit For Community Service

Imagine a not-too-distant future where the standard treatment of critical human disease is not based on high-risk invasive procedures or powerful medications, but instead focused on repairing, replacing, and regenerating damaged cells and tissues. A future where the time-honoured phase "physician heal thyself " becomes a reality.
This is the promise of Regenerative Medicine, an exciting, rapidly developing field with the potential to transform the treatment of human disease through the development of innovative new therapies that offer a faster, more complete recovery with significantly fewer side effects and complications.
The McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine is dedicated to fulfilling this promise through ongoing funding and support of innovative research in Regenerative medicine.
Established in 2003, the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine is a part of University Health Network, a world leader in basic science research and innovative health care.
By helping to realize the vast potential of Regenerative medicine, the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine provides and important catalyst for the development of better, more effective treatments for life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, lung and organ diseases, spinal cord injury, neurodegenerative disease, and many more.
